Athletics

The City Hawks Unified Sports program is one of the most recognized and prestigious sports programs for students with and without disabilities in the New York City Public Schools. Since its inception in 2006, our student-athletes have led the way in breaking barriers and showing that they belong both on and off the field. They have competed nationally and internationally, most recently representing Special Olympics USA in Unified Soccer at the Special Olympics World Games 2023 in Berlin, Germany. The City Hawks have been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America and ESPN’s SportsCenter and were honored with an honorary ESPY award in 2017.

Students of all abilities can discover their inner champion by participating in sports such as soccer, flag football, floorball, basketball, volleyball, track and field, rowing, esports, and more throughout the school year. When they wear the blue and gold, our student-athletes cultivate a sense of pride, excellence, and determination, embodying the spirit and expectations of being a City Hawk.
